If you mention Penang to anybody in Malaysia, without a doubt the first thing they will reply with will be something along the lines of ‘incredible food’/’best food in Malaysia and possibly the entire world’ – and they’re not lying. If you’re a foodie, this is your turf. It is home to some of the best Malay, Chinese and Indian food you’re ever going to get your hands on, and it will rarely set you back any more than 3MYR, which basically feels like stealing. The street food here is some of the best I’ve ever tasted. And if you happen to be wandering around little India in Georgetown at 11am and feel a little peckish, stop at a stall for a chicken samosa (Ayam samosa) and your day/entire life will continue to get better and better.
